The INJURED NINJA knows only victory or death – there is no compromise.  The well-honed skills of any Ninja are calculated and precise, silent and deadly, these fit fighting warriors would never be disgraced by falling in the heat of battle. Only the most catastrophic of cataclysmic events could deter such a silent and deadly master and shake him off his mortal coil - what would happen if the seasoned warrior was bested? What power would emerge when the Ninja is pushed to the edge?

Injured Ninja is a collective of four like minded musical entities that produce a sonically rich and dominating force that meddles with the brain and grooves within the body. It's music that sounds like the end of the world is nigh, and that every soul on the planet is determined to scream, dance and party with every iota of their remaining energy on this, their fateful final night on Earth. Words fail to describe the sound the Ninja can produce, but 'intense' is one that we've noticed thrown around quite regularly of late. Modern sounds erupting from primitive instruments, electrons flow in kaleidoscopic movement - blurring sonic spectral fields into simulacra of grooves and energies. Its music to make you think, alert your senses, make you feel alive and engaged.

Injured Ninja is comprised of Steven Aaron Hughes, Dominic Pearce, Jake Steele and Matthew Bairstow.

In their western homelands the Ninja is notorious for insane improvisational gigs and intense set performances, playing with a myriad of different styled bands and quickly becoming one of the most unique acts playing the various noise hovels of Perth. One of the most fascinating new bands  to emerge out of Perth, Western Australia - a blend of bent electronics, noise rock and dance music – the unique sonic attack of the Ninja is a force to be reckoned with and a prime new Australian experimental band with big things anticipated for 2010.

Having toured to the spiritual homeland of Japan in February 2009 and making their first venture to the east coast of Australia in December, Injured Ninja released their first single ‘IDDQD’ (a split 12” with the psychedelic gravy of French Rockets) through local experimental label Heartless Robot Records in January 2010. The single went on to take out the prestigious ‘WAMi Most Popular Single/EP’ award topping much more prolific major label artists. Featuring high quality self-produced music videos the single has struck a chord in their hometown of Perth and acts as a grand precursor to their debut album, which will be recorded in June with the assistance of a WA Department of Culture and Arts production grant.
